Parallel universe theory avers that there is another possible outcome of our reality. It specifies there are possibilities that many parallel universes exist in our space. All these discoveries and concepts compel the acceptance of the fact that there are more than just one universe and that we directly or indirectly interact with many of these "unseen" universes.
The parallel universe theory, however, has a solution to this paradox. By the theory, people exist in different moments of time in different universes. In order to travel time, a person would need to travel to a parallel universe. Once the person kills his grandfather in that parallel universe, his counterpart will never come into existence in that universe. However, he can return to his universe and the effects of his actions on the parallel universe won't exist. So according to this theory, alternate time lines and alternate universes go hand in hand. If something has to be altered in the past in a parallel universe, the effects will be limited to that universe.
